Here at Les Aldrich, our highly experienced team offer a variety of repair and maintenance services.

We like to be as transparent as possible when it comes to the costs of repairs and the work that will need to be carried out. If this changes during the course of the work we will always let you know.

  • We undertake all types of guitar repairs for all makes and models of acoustic, classical, bass and electric guitars.

    Common guitar repairs we undertake include:

    • Guitar setup (action and intonation, truss rod adjustment, a full clean and polish and a new set of strings (if requested).

    • Nut, bridge and machine head replacement.

    • Neck adjustment and repair.

    • Fret dressing (partial/full).

    • Re-fret (partial/full).

    • Pickup replacement and installation.

    • Acoustic pre-amp replacement and installation.

    • Electric repairs and modifications on both electric and bass guitars.

    • Bridge modifications and upgrades (adding a tremolo etc).

    • Bodywork repair.

    Prices:

    • Restring (classical guitar) - £40.

    • Restring (acoustic and electric) - £35.

    • Set up - £60 + cost of parts and strings.

    • Electrical repairs - £40phr.

  • We undertake repairs and maintenance for a variety of brass instruments.

    Common services include:

    • Stuck slide removal.

    • Re-soldering finger hooks.

    • Valve servicing.

    • Cleaning and lubricating.

    • Dent repairs.

  • We undertake repairs and maintenance for a variety of woodwind instruments.

    Common services include:

    • Fitting new pads (leather, synthetic).

    • Adjusting existing pads

    • Fitting new tenon cork.

    • Fitting new key cork/felt.

    • Bent keys and regulation.

    • Re-soldering broken key work.

    • Fitting new crook cork.

    • Tone hole levelling.

    • Adjusting loose head-joint fit.

    • Clean, oil and polish for key-work.

  • These terms and conditions ("Agreement") govern the provision of musical instrument repair and maintenance services ("Services") by Les Aldrich Music ("Provider") to the customer ("Customer"). By engaging our Services, the Customer agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please read this Agreement carefully.

    Service Scope:

    1.1 The Provider will provide repair and maintenance services for musical instruments as requested by the Customer.

    1.2 The Provider will make every reasonable effort to diagnose and fix the issues reported by the Customer to the best of their abilities.

    Obligations of the Customer:

    2.1 The Customer agrees to provide accurate and complete information about the musical instrument requiring repair or maintenance.

    2.2 The Customer is responsible for transporting the musical instrument to and from the Provider's premises at their own expense.

    2.3 The Customer shall notify the Provider of any special handling or storage requirements for their musical instrument.

    2.4 The Customer agrees to arrive at the agreed time for delivery and collection. If the Customer is over 30 minutes late, the Customer agrees to pay a £15 late fee to the Provider. This will be added to the final fee.

    Estimates and Approval:

    3.1 The Provider will provide the Customer with an estimate for the cost and duration of repairs upon inspecting the musical instrument, if requested.

    3.2 The estimate provided is an approximation based on the information available at the time and may be subject to change after a more detailed assessment.

    Repair and Service:

    4.1 The Provider will carry out repair and maintenance services in a professional manner, utilizing their expertise and industry-standard practices.

    4.2 The Provider may use new or refurbished parts, subject to availability and the Customer's approval.

    4.3 The Provider will make reasonable efforts to complete the repair work within the estimated time frame, but cannot guarantee a specific completion date.

    Fees and Payment:

    5.1 The Customer agrees to pay the Provider the fees agreed upon in the estimate, which may include charges for parts, labor, and any applicable taxes.

    5.2 Payment shall be made by the Customer upon completion of the repair or as otherwise agreed upon in writing between the parties.

    Liability and Warranty:

    6.1 The Provider will not be held responsible for any damage to the musical instrument arising from pre-existing conditions, mishandling by the Customer, or unavoidable circumstances.

    6.2 The Provider will provide a warranty on the repair work performed, covering any defects arising from the repair for a period of 3 months from the completion date, subject to the terms outlined in the warranty policy.

    6.3 The Customer must promptly report any warranty claims to the Provider and allow the Provider a reasonable opportunity to address the issue.

    Limitation of Liability:

    7.1 The Provider's liability for any claims, damages, or losses arising from the Services provided, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, shall be limited to the fees paid by the Customer for the specific repair service.

    Confidentiality:

    8.1 The Provider will keep all information provided by the Customer confidential and will not disclose it to any third parties, except as required by law.

    Termination:

    9.1 Either party may terminate this Agreement in writing with prior notice.

    9.2 The Customer will be responsible for paying any outstanding fees for the Services provided up to the termination date.

    Governing Law and Jurisdiction:

    10.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of UK Law.

    10.2 Any disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of UK Law.

    By engaging our Services, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
